Cleaning
Automotive Machining
When the engine enters our shop for rebuild, it’s documented by photographing and cataloging. It moves to the cleaning room for disassembly, sonic cleaning in our Eastern Precision Ultrasonic cleaner, and inspection.
Crack checking takes place in our DMC Magnaflux machine. Both block and connecting rod honing are done with our Sunnen honing equipment. Balancing is completed with our Hines crank assembly balancer. Our Serdi 100 valve seat and guide machine works on straight pilots versus tapered pilots. This makes the valve jobs second to none. Our Flow Data bench feeds information to our Audie Technology Flow Pro Software. Every new cylinder head is tested on this flow bench. After a second round of sonic cleaning, all engine parts move on to assembly.
Assembly
Dyno Room
We have five assembly bays to keep production on the move. Here our assemblers begin by putting the bottom end of the engine together according to specs. Accuracy and measurement are done with Sunnen gauges. Our tolerances are completed to .0001 of an inch. At the same time, the cylinder heads are also being assembled. Once completed, they are matched to their coordinating bottom end for final stages of assembly. The engines are completely dressed with wiring harnesses, fuel delivery and ignition systems, and are ready to move to the Dyno room.
The engine is connected to the Depac dyno for break-in procedures. Once a specific list of checks is completed, the engine is started and warmed up to operating temperatures. The engine is then put through a mild break-in cycle which seats the rings and ensures that all systems are working as designed. The engine is then shut down. The Oberg screens are removed from the oil tank for inspection. The screens are cleaned of break-in material and reassembled in the oil tank. The engine is restarted and brought up to operating temperature. At this point the engine goes through a static test at different RPM levels. Once it passes this point, we move on to acceleration runs. Close monitoring and tuning take place throughout the entire dyno procedure. After the engine is tuned, it is checked for leaks and pressure tested. Once again, the screens are inspected to make sure there is no residual break-in material left. Once this test is passed, the engine is removed from the dyno and prepared for shipping.
New Engines
We build custom race engines for all classes from start to finish. All inquiries for new engines should be directly addressed to Steve. His knowledge of the rules for all classes under the various sanctioning bodies will direct the development of a new Elite Engine to suit the customer’s needs.

CNC Machine Shop
A full warehouse of stock provides almost any part for each engine that we build. Many are made in-house.
We design, prototype and machine a variety of parts in-house, from camshafts and lifters, oil pumps and dry sump systems, to pulleys and flywheels The machine shop consists of four Haas CNC machining centers: two mills and two lathes.
